Total Commander bookmarks

Total Commander does not have the function to add bookmarks to files/folders to return to later by default. However, there are plugins and other extensions adding such features. Also, there is a way to use built-in features of Total Commander to provide something similar to bookmarks.

  • For folders, use the Directory Hotlist (Ctrl+D) to add the current folder to the directory hotlist, then select "Add current dir".
  • For files, repeat the procedure for folders, then press Ctrl+D again and select "Configure" and append the file you need in a folder.
  • You can now quickly access the saved filder/file by pressing Ctrl+D.
